The Loam Studio is a ceramic design practice based in Austin, Texas. Each piece begins as raw earth and becomes a considered art object — designed for daily life, made to be touched, used, and noticed.
We work in stoneware, exploring the intersection of design thinking and handcraft. No two pieces are the same. Every mark left in the clay is intentional.

Design
Every piece begins as a sketch — exploring form, proportion and surface before the clay is ever touched.

Throw
Wheel-thrown on a potter's wheel in our Austin studio. The process is slow and deliberate — each form centred by hand.

Glaze
Glazed by hand with layered finishes. The fire does the rest — revealing texture and depth we can guide, not control.

Fire
Fired to stoneware temperature. Food safe, durable, made to be used every day — not just admired.
